Weight: The weight is the foundation of the rig and provides the necessary sink rate to get the lure down to the fish. It is typically bullet-shaped and made of lead or tungsten. The weight size varies depending on the fishing conditions and the depth of the water.

Hook: The hook is the business end of the rig and is responsible for hooking the fish. It is typically an extra-wide gap hook, which allows the hook to penetrate the fish’s mouth even when it is buried in vegetation. The hook size also varies depending on the size of the fish being targeted.

Soft plastic lure: The soft plastic lure is the bait that attracts the fish. There are many different types of soft plastic lures that can be used on a Texas rig, including worms, lizards, crawfish, and creature baits.
